In plain words. **Last updated: October 29, 2026** This page explains what Scaled Garage collects, why, what anyone can see, and how to change or delete it. If anything here is unclear, ask us through the [contact page](https://kristin.cms.brandcoders.com/contact). ## What we collect **When you join.** Your display name, email address and password. We never keep your password itself, only a scrambled version of it that can't be turned back into the password. You can also add your town, a few words about yourself and your favorite car. **When you add a car.** What you tell us about it, your notes, up to six photos, and your poll if you ask one. **When you vote.** Which answer you picked in each car's poll, linked to your account. **When you use the contact form.** Your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message. **When you visit.** Like any website, our server sees your internet address and browser when you load a page. We use it to keep the site running and to stop spam and abuse, such as too many sign-in tries from one place. ## What is public, and what is not As soon as you add them, your display name, town, about text, favorite car, and the cars you add (with their photos, notes and polls) appear on the site for anyone to see. Vote counts are shown as totals, never who voted for what. Your email address is never shown on the site. Neither is your password, which we can't read either. ## How we use it - To run your account: signing you in, showing your garage, and counting your votes. - To email you when you ask, such as a password reset link. - To answer your messages. - To keep the site safe and family friendly. We check what members type for words that are not allowed, and we take down anything that breaks the rules. We don't sell your information, and we don't show ads. ## Cookies and your browser We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. When you sign in, your browser keeps a sign-in key so you stay signed in. Signing out removes it, and it stops working by itself after 30 days. Our headings and text use fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google's servers for them when you visit. Google sees your internet address when it does. ## Who else handles it Our hosting provider keeps the site and its data on their servers. If we email you, the email goes through our email provider. They handle it only to provide those services to us. ## How long we keep it - Your account, profile, cars and votes: until you delete your account. - Photos and details sent with the add-a-car form: 30 days in our inbox, besides the car's own page. - Contact form messages: until we delete them. - Password reset links: one hour, and each works once. Sign-ins: 30 days. ## Your choices - Change your profile any time from [My Garage](https://kristin.cms.brandcoders.com/my-garage). - Delete your account from My Garage.
